Sound work, 19’35”, 2025

Commissioned the sound artist Leo Zylberberg to co-produce the sound work

This sound piece uses cartoon-like effects to mimic the sounds of conflict: crashes, falling bodies, sirens, distant explosions, hovering planes, clapping, slapping, and more. At first, it feels playful — almost humorous — but slowly a darker atmosphere creeps in. Grief, fear, and innocence start to blend in a surreal, uneasy way.

The sounds take me back to childhood — watching cartoons before or after the evening news, overlapping the innocence and violence, and the strange timing of it. There’s something melancholic and disturbingly familiar about it.

This piece translates the themes I explore in my stand-up into sound.
